Something Just Ain’t Right! Your Body Is Trying to Tell You Something – Are You Listening?
Our bodies sneeze and cough without warning. This is the body’s way of talking to us and letting us know that something is wrong. Whether allergies or the common cold, we know when our bodies are trying to tell us something. Back in the old days, people use to say that when you sneeze or cough that you were actually catching a cold. Actually, your body is fighting off a cold when this happens. Our bodies are made so uniquely that it knows when to send off a warning signal to you that something is wrong. So, your body has no choice but to try and fight off what’s trying to attack. Your body responds by sneezing, coughing, or sending out a pain signal that something is hurting. Our bodies talk to us by letting us know that something just ain’t right. When this happens, we need to respond accordingly. Ignoring the pain or symptoms just worsens the pain. Then, we find ourselves being treated for multiple symptoms when we could’ve caught it from the very beginning. It’s important to catch sickness at the very beginning to keep it from spreading throughout the body. Your body is talking. Please listen!
It’s common for adults to ignore the warning signs that our bodies give us when something isn’t right. A sniffle can lead to a cold. A cold can lead to something more serious such as the flu or pneumonia if ignored. Yes, I know, We don’t have the finances every time we get a sniffle or two to go to the doctor. There is, however, over the counter medications that help to relieve symptoms as they arise. If they are not relieved in three days or they progress worse in three days, then see your healthcare provider.
An on-going cold is not good for the body. It weakens the immune system as it worsens. You cannot perform your regular duties effectively due to feeling bad all the time. Pain in the body lets you know that something isn’t right. Something is going on that should not be ignored. When asked by your doctor about your symptoms, a list of everything that is going on in your body should be told. You should be able to tell the doctor exactly what’s going on in your body. From where the pain is to what scale your pain is on. The doctor asks you to rate your pain from 1-10. You should be able to do so. The doctor cannot feel what’s going on in your body. Only you can feel it. In the event that there is pain in your body, this is a warning sign that there is something going on. It means that something is there and it can no longer be ignored. A sneeze may be allergies but you will never know for sure unless you are seen by a doctor.
Symptoms can go from minor to major in hours and days without any treatment. This is why it’s important to be seen at the first sight of any symptom of anything going on in your body. Ignoring pain only makes room for other sicknesses to take place. Our bodies are no different from cars. Once something in your car breaks down, another part in your car needs fixing. This is because everything is connected. Our bodies are held together perfectly. When one thing is broken or disabled, it causes something else to falter. At the first sign of sickness, it’s important to be seen by a doctor. Your body is talking to you. Are you listening to it?
