Lines No More
Aging, it is something each and every one of us has to go through. It is the result of slowing down of the production and regeneration of the body’s cells through the passage of time. Our body has an internal clock and it acts as a guide with how or body acts to certain stimuli at a certain age. Aging manifests in different ways, but the obvious ones are those that affect our appearance. It may range from our hair turning gray to lines and wrinkles appearing on our skin. External factors, such as exposure to sunlight and pollution, also contribute to the extent of the wear on the body. More exposure to these factors often lead to a more severe effect on the aging of the body.
In today’s modern world, everything seems possible now, from wireless communication and even the reversal of the effects of aging. Not all the effects may be reversed but certainly those that physically manifest can certainly be dealt with. The advancement in technology in the recent decades have been very vast that what may have seemed impossible before may now as well just be one click away. Along with the recent developments in technology, the standards of beauty certainly did not fall behind. They changed along with the passage of time, but one thing is for sure youthful and vibrant looking skin is a constant thing through the ages. Advancements in technology brought with it advancements in medicine as well, so more and more procedures and medications are being developed as time goes by.
Now, I am a woman in my mid-30s and I am experiencing the effects of aging. You may say that I am not that old, but it is really not what I am looking at in the mirror every single day. Fine lines and wrinkles have started to appear around my eyes and mouth, it may be because I don’t smile that much but it definitely is because of the amount of stress I go through. Working a nine to five job at a big firm is kind of a stressful job and having commute to work every single day doesn’t really help out with that either. All of those factors put together end up with me looking tired all of the time, so I do my best to cover up and look more presentable by using makeup. Makeup does wonders in turning me from a zombie into a fierce independent woman, so it is so my best friend.
No matter the amount of makeup I put on to start my day could cover up the lines I see when I look in the mirror when I remove it at the end of the day. This is when I use creams and other beauty products to help make me feel better about myself, but these creams don’t seem enough to make me happy so to the internet I went to find out what more I can do. This is about when I read about microdermabrasion and how it could help rejuvenate my skin and help in reducing fine lines and wrinkles. I was sold from that moment. There were a few choices when it came to microdermabrasion: go to a dermatologist, go to a spa that offers the service, or buy a home kit to use by myself at home. With how busy I am and how I always feel tired after a week’s worth of work, I decided to opt for a home kit since I could use it at my own time and at my own space.
There were a few products on the market and some of them were a little bit pricey, but when I saw BrightTouch – Sonic Facial Cleansing & Skin Care System which was selling for a fraction of the price of its competitor like the Clarisonic one, I decided to buy it. It came with four different attachments which I saw that I could really benefit from and that was the selling point for me. It could only not help get rid of my fine lines but it could also aid in pampering myself with a spa-like treatment at the comforts of my own home.
The four attachments are a soft sponge, a soft brush head, a pumice disc and a nail buffer. The first two attachments can be used in coordination with each other for my intended use of the device. I would use the soft brush head with my facial wash to cleanse my face from a day’s worth of makeup and dirt. The brush head oscillates, or vibrate in layman’s terms, which does not irritate the skin as much as when a brush would rotate. The brush cleanses the dirt away from deep in the pores to unclog them and reduce the size of the pores. The brush also exfoliates the skin deeply to remove dead skin cells and bring out a much younger and clearer looking skin. Exfoliation helps clear up fine lines and wrinkles by bringing out a new layer of skin and promotes cellular regeneration. Rapid regeneration means healthier glowing skin. I use the soft sponge attachment after cleaning my face with the soft brush head to help soothe and massage in the facial creams I use to moisturize my face. Massaging helps out in the skin’s elasticity which makes it a little plumper and firmer. Applying moisturizer after exfoliating is also the best time to do it since the skin would absorb it much better because it is all cleared up. Moisturized skin leads to youthful and healthy looking skin.
The other two attachments I use whenever I feel like pampering myself on the weekends to my own little spa at home. It’s a nice little addition to such a useful device, definitely one worth buying if you’re looking into keeping yourself looking youthful and healthy. I forgot to mention that it could also help you with acne scarring and acne spots, so worth giving it a go if you have such problems.
