Men Clothing in India:
Dhoti-Kurta:
An unstitched rectangular piece of Dhoti with an elegant Kurta is the most traditional attire of men in India. It is the cultural dress of men in Bengal, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam and Kannada communities.
Sherwani:
Sherwani is a body-fit coat which is worn in combination with a churidar or dhoti. Designer Sherwani is often used by men for the purpose of wedding or any festive ceremony. This fashionable dress for men used to be the court uniform of Turkish and Persian origin in the Mughal era.
Casuals:
A combination of T-shirt with Jeans gives a smart look to men of all age. The simple tailored jeans, although, western in origin, is casually used by teens. Today, every youths look for brands like Denim, Levis, Pepe, Lee, Wrangler, Armani etc to add quality into their rack.
Formals
Formals are best choice for Business men. Dress code with black suit and contrasting silk tie will make its wearer the main attraction in any gala. Semi-formal are also worn by men during cocktail parties and at academic meetings. Raymond, Siyaram’s, Belmonte etc are some brand of suits available at shopping complex all over the world.
Women Clothing in India
Saree:
As often, women in Sari looks like an angel. The long unstitched drape is a traditional attire of the women in West Bengal, Bihar and Orissa. Sarees like Jamdani, Baluchari, cotton Tangail, silk, siffon, Era Silk, Zardosi, Bomkai, Teliarumaal, Sambalpuri are some quality collections, which are available in all garment houses.
Salwar Kameez:
A common attire needs no introduction. Be it a business lady or homely lass, Salwar-Suit is one such dress, which attracts women of all type. The colorful embroidered suit with waving duppatta are mostly sub-divided into Anarkali Patiyala, Churidar, Umbrella-cut, Cotton, Unstitched, Silk and Party wear.
Lehanga Choli:
These days, Lehanaga Choli is ruling the world of fashion. The use of traditional garment of Rajasthan has crossed all boundaries of religion and region. Designer lehnga choli, hand-crafted with kundans, beads and zari threads are highly checked out by women from both national and international places.
Mekhala and Chadar
This traditional costume is exclusive in Assam, a North-eastern State. Assamese women are well-equipped with the technique of weaving clothes on the loom. Designed in vertical and horizontal stripes, the Mekhala-Chadar is said to have been adopted from Tibetan and Burmese wardrobe. Besides, Bodo women of Kokrajhar, Darrang, Sonitpur are very fond of wearing the dress code in any cultural occasions.
